We lived in Atlanta for almost two years. When we first moved, the twins were about 4 months old, and we left when they were 27 months old.
I had visited Atlanta a lot previously (before kids) and knew that there was a ton that the city and surrounding areas had to offer — but I was determined to get out and experience the city with my toddlers.
Georgia Aquarium: A Must-Do with Toddlers

If you’re going to do anything with your toddlers in Atlanta, the Georgia Aquarium should be it!
This aquarium is MASSIVE! There is a huge tunnel of ocean life where you can either walk through the middle or stand on the moving sidewalks on the side.
The looks on both of my twins’ faces going through the Ocean Tunnel were priceless. Seeing the majestic whale sharkswim over top of you is hands down one of the coolest things to experience.
The aquarium also has beluga whales — my personal favorite.
There are a couple of live exhibits like the Dolphin Celebration and the Sea Lion Presentation. We didn’t do the sea lions, but the dolphin show was fantastic! It was interactive, fun for kids, and you can tell the animals are really well cared for.
Tip: Children 3 and under get in FREE!
World of Coca-Cola: Sensory Fun for Toddlers

Right next door to the aquarium is the World of Coca-Cola, and many families knock out both in the same day.
When we visited, my twins were still on the younger side, so they didn’t fully grasp the history part of the experience. But they loved the lights, sounds, and colors throughout.
The best part? Trying all the different Coca-Cola flavors from around the world! Some are definitely more “interesting” than others.
Pro tip: Kids 3 and under are also FREE here!
Children’s Museum of Atlanta: Play + Learn
This museum is designed for hands-on toddler fun. It’s a bit on the pricey side (only babies under 11 months are free), but totally worth it.
There are:
- Painting stations
- Sand tables
- A mini farm and grocery store
- Activities to learn about the globe, cause and effect, and more
While kids are “playing,” they’re also learning and developing key skills. If you happen to be in Atlanta on a rainy day, this is the place to go!
Centennial Park- A chill vibe

What toddler or kid doesn’t like a big patch of grass to run free in?!
This is the perfect place to have a picnic, run around, take a walk, or just hang out and chill.
Four times a day you can watch the water show at the Fountain of Rings. The 1996 Olympics were held in Atlanta, and the rings are the Olympic Rings that represent the 1996 Summer Olympic games.
Centennial Park is located right near the Georgia Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola, so when you’re planning the day, you can knock these three destinations out pretty easily.
